The Canvs IQ Executive Brief automatically turns a Canvs IQ conversation into a polished, presentation-ready PowerPoint deck in seconds. After you've had a meaningful exchange with Canvs IQ (asking questions, exploring segments, drilling into themes) a single click generates a structured 7-slide brief that tells the story of your data, from headline verdict to strategic takeaways.
Just a single click from your Canvs IQ session to a finished, branded .pptx deck ready to present to your team.

• Consistent and predictable - every brief follows the same structure, so you always know what to expect
• Focused on what matters - surfaces the strongest story and clearest takeaways, built to fit a 20-minute leadership readout
The Brief at a Glance - 7 Slides, One Story
Every brief follows the same predictable structure. The content changes with every session; the structure never does.
Slide 1 - Cover: Dataset identity and key numbers
Orients the room instantly: dataset name, the question analyzed, wave and source, the top 3 hero numbers, a placeholder for your own logo, and a data quality flag if anything needs a caveat before the findings land.
Slide 2 - Executive Summary: The verdict, stated boldly
A large headline takes a position on the single most consequential finding. “Why This Matters” connects it to a business decision, and “Questions This Deck Answers” primes the reader for what comes next.
Slide 3 - High Level Summary: Evidence for the verdict
Expands the executive summary into a full overview. A bar chart shows primary driver concentration by segment, and a Canvs IQ Insight strip surfaces the single most statistically notable finding in the dataset.
Slide 4 - Comparison: Cross-segment ranking table
A clean comparison table ranks each segment by its primary driver and motive type, a standalone reference you can hand to your team. Highlighted rows call out the highest-concentration segments, and footnotes flag any small-base segments that should be treated as directional only.
Slide 5 - Segment Deep Dive: Per-segment theme breakdown
One card per segment showing the top 5 themes as horizontal bars with response count and top-driver percentage. A representative verbatim quote anchors each segment to real respondent language, and warning banners flag routing issues or small bases inline.
Slide 6 - Q&A: Your own questions, answered
Every substantive question you asked Canvs IQ during the session becomes a Q&A card, the question shown verbatim, with a concise synthesis of Canvs IQ's response. This slide is unique to each session.
Slide 7 - Strategic Takeaways: What to do next
3 to 6 takeaway cards synthesized across the entire session, each with a declarative title and 2–3 action-oriented bullets, the output you take out of the room and act on.
Who Should Use This
• Insights analysts: run the analysis in Canvs IQ, generate the brief, and send it to stakeholders who don't have platform access. The brief gives them the findings without requiring a login.
• Client-side researchers: generate a brief after every significant Canvs IQ session as a permanent record of findings. The consistent structure makes it easy to compare briefs across waves and track how insights evolve.
• Teams preparing for a leadership readout or QBR - run the Canvs IQ session and generate the brief directly from the chat, instead of building a deck from scratch before every meeting.
How to Generate a Canvs IQ Executive Brief
The Executive Brief is generated directly inside Canvs IQ. You never need to download a file, visit another tool, or upload anything, the entire flow, from session to finished deck, happens in the platform.
1. Have a meaningful Canvs IQ conversation
Run your analysis in Canvs IQ as normal, ask questions, explore segments, drill into themes. The “Generate Executive Brief” option appears in the Canvs IQ menu once your session has enough substantive content to produce a meaningful brief.
• Tip: The more thorough your session, the richer the Q&A slide will be. Sessions with at least 2–3 substantive question turns produce the best results.
2. Confirm generation
Canvs IQ displays a short confirmation: “Turn this conversation into an Executive Brief.” This confirms the brief will be built from your current conversation. Click OK, and Canvs IQ reads your session, identifies the strongest findings, and begins building the deck.
• Tip: Generation takes 20–45 seconds depending on the depth of the session.
Note: The Executive Brief reflects the current Canvs IQ thread. If you need a new brief for a different dataset, wave, or question set start a new Canvs IQ conversation, ask your questions, and generate the Executive Brief again from that thread.
3. Download your brief
A notification appears in the top right corner of Canvs IQ: “Your Executive Brief is ready. Download.” Click the Download link to save your .pptx file. Open it in PowerPoint or Google Slides, add your logo to the placeholder on the cover slide, and your brief is ready to present.
• Tip: The download link is active for 7 days for security reasons. If the link expires, you can generate a new brief at any time from the same or a new Canvs IQ thread.
Frequently Asked Questions
When does the “Generate Executive Brief” option appear?
The option becomes available once your session reaches a threshold of meaningful content, typically after you've asked 2 or more substantive analytical questions and received data-backed responses.
Can I customize the colors to match my brand?
Yes, and much more. The Executive Brief is a standard PowerPoint file. Once downloaded, every element is fully editable: colors, fonts, layouts, slide order, and content. You own the file completely.
Can I add my own logo?
The cover slide has a clearly labeled “YOUR LOGO” placeholder in the top right panel. In PowerPoint, click the placeholder and insert your logo image. Future versions will support automatic logo embedding at generation time.
How accurate is the brief?
The generator reads numbers, themes, and verbatims directly from your Canvs IQ session, it does not interpret or embellish the data. The narrative text (headline, so-what, takeaways) is synthesized from the findings. We recommend reviewing the Executive Summary headline and Takeaways slides before presenting to ensure the framing reflects your intended emphasis. As with all AI-generated content, the brief may contain errors or omissions. Always review the output before sharing externally.
How long is the download link active?
The download link expires after 7 days for security reasons. If the link has expired, you can generate a new brief at any time, simply return to the Canvs IQ thread and select “Generate Executive Brief” again. You can also start a new thread if you want to update the brief with additional analysis.
Can I generate multiple briefs from the same session?
Yes, each generation produces a fresh brief. If you continue the conversation and add more questions, generating again will produce a more complete brief that reflects the full session.
