Canvs Surveys
Introducing Rules for Canvs Surveys! We've rolled out Survey Rules to eliminate repetitive actions around Net and Code creation. For example, if you frequently create the code "felt enjoyment about cast" every time an uploaded survey has an Open Ended response that expresses joy about the cast, you'll now be able to create a Rule that follows defined conditions and will be applied to surveys ingested in the future. With Survey Rules, users will not have to add the same Net or Code over and over in different Surveys.
Users can access the Survey Rules section from the Settings menu on the upper right of the platform. A Rules Management page will open that will list all the Rules within your organization.
Once in the Rules Management page, you can Search, Sort, Filter, Create, Activate, or Deactivate Rules. An Active Rule will be applied to any Survey ingested in the future, whereas a Disabled/Inactive Rule will not be applied to the Survey. An Inactive Rule will be available to the user if they choose to Activate it again. You can also Create a new Rule with the +Create Rule button.
Rules in the Survey content page can be created after a query is accepted in Canvs Smart Search. If a query is error free, a checkmark indicating correct syntax will change to a + sign. Once the user clicks on the + sign, the Create Rule modal will open up.
Once you choose to Create a Rule, enter the Rule Name, Rule Description, and Rule Group. You can also select which Emotional Framework you will be using the Rule with and whether it should be Active or not.
On the right of the modal, you can define the conditions of the Rule. If the Rule conditions are applicable to the Survey, the Survey Analysis will automatically create a Code and/or Net based on the Rule. The first condition is powered by Canvs Smart Search. Here you can define the Text, Codes, Topics, Emotions, and/or Cross Tabs that an Open Ended response must contain to be part of the Rule. You'll also be able to specify the Survey Industry and Survey Type. Most importantly, you'll define the Code and/or Net that you wish to add if the Open Ends meet the criteria. Click Create Rule when you have finished setting the conditions.
Once you have Created a Rule, you can apply the Rule(s) during the Upload stage on the Surveys Details step. By enabling this option, all Rules in the organization will to be applied. You can also select Rules specific for a particular Group created in the earlier step. When making the Rules active, click the Edit option and select which Rule Groups will be applied.
When you click Edit, you will see a modal where you can select Rules set for specific Groups to be applied. On the left, you'll see the list of Groups along with the ability to Search, Select, or Deselect Groups to use. Based on what selections are made on the left of the modal, the right side will be updated with the list of Rules that will be applied to the Survey.
On the Surveys content page, you can hover on the info icon next to the Survey Title to see how many Rules were applied in addition to the User, Date, and Time of the upload.
Compare Updates
We've made enhancements to Compare so that you can quickly set the date range or a rolling selection for individual assets in Compare. You now can choose from the first 24 hours to the first 90 days of any individual airings. Note: this feature is not applicable to collections of data. You will be able to compare "S3 Episode 2 of The Flash", "S1 Episode 1 of Game of Thrones" and " S3 Episode 4 of Breaking Bad". You will not be able to use this new date range selection if you want to compare The Flash series, the Game of Thrones series, and the Breaking Bad series.
